Cancer Patient Consultation

Initial Consultation 

 

The initial visit is a longer consultation for up to one hour. The key basis of your initial consultation includes: 

  • Analyse your clinical presentation and medical findings from oncology perspective;  

  • Analyse your clinical presentation and relevant medical findings in relation to Chinese medicine perspective; 

  • Assess your present signs and symptoms including tongue and pulse which are the assessment method in Chinese medicine;  

  • Identify the feasibility of using Chinese medicine as a complementary approach to the management of your condition; 

  • Plan clinical strategy of Chinese medicine management to achieve optimal outcomes; 

  • Design a herbal and/or acupuncture formulation based on the above strategy;  

  • Provide basic diet and life style advice according to the Chinese medicine principles; and 

  • Prepare and dispense the herbs and explain how to make and take them; and/or  

  • Provide acupuncture treatment.

Initial consultation fee: $180.  
 

(Note: if a written report is required, a extra charge with $100 will be applied. The written report provides with the details of the herbs or acupuncture used and relevant safety profile checking; and provide with key scientific evidence (laboratory and/or clinical research) to explain why to use these approaches and how it can work on your condition). 
 

The cost of the herbs is generally from $9 to $15 per day. 

Acupuncture fee: $70. 

Follow-up Consultation

Subsequent visits are for up to half an hour. This includes: 

  • Assess the present symptoms and signs including tongue and pulse according to the assessment method of Chinese medicine; 

  • Modify the herbal or acupuncture prescription where it may be necessary according to your body response; 

  • Prepare and dispense the herbs; and/or  

  • Provide acupuncture treatment. 

 

Follow-up consultation fee: $40. 

The cost of the herbs is generally from $9 to $15 per day. 

Acupuncture fee: $70.

Medicare and Private Health Funds 

 
Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine are not covered by Medicare, but covered by many private health funds. Your coverage will depend on your insurance policy. 

Chronic Condition

Consultation for a chronic condition other than cancer

Initial Consultation 

 

The initial visit is a longer consultation for up to 45 minutes. The initial consultation includes: 

  • Assess your present signs and symptoms including tongue and pulse conditions which is the assessment method in Chinese medicine;  

  • Plan a clinical strategy of Chinese herbal prescription/acupuncture management to achieve optimal outcomes; 

  • Design a herbal/acupuncture formulation based on the above strategy; 

  • Provide diet and life style advice according to the Chinese medicine principles;  

  • Prepare and dispense the herbs and explain how to make and take them, and/or 

  • Provide acupuncture treatment.             

 

Initial consultation fee: $110.  

The cost of the herbs is generally from $7 to $13 per day. 

Acupuncture fee: $70.
